GRE Test Analytical Review
The analytical writing section of the GRE test requires 2 essays. The first essay is an issue question that requires you to express your opinions about a topic. The second essay is an argument analysis were you breakdown the opinion expressed. So basically in the first essay you are giving your opinion and in the second essay you are reviewing someone elses opinion.
Two reviewers will read your essays following the GRE test. An average score will be taken based on their opinions. The maximum score is a 6 with the minimum score being 0. Your analytical results will not be available immediately following the test. Your GRE test scores will be sent to you in the mail.
Writing reviewers are looking for proper grammar usage, logical flow, good vocabulary skills, and the development of a cohesive essay. Stick to your main points while writing your essay on the GRE exam. Provide supporting explanations that are appropriate and not extremely biased. The testing reviewer has been trained to analyze essays, however, if your position is extreme or distasteful you may be disappointed with a poor score due to inherent biases within individuals.
If you are unsure of the proper grammar or spelling do not use questionable term. On the other hand, do not use excessive amounts of one syllable words. Run-on sentences that just keep going are also analyzed with the essay reviewers on the GRE test. Take the time to review your essay before submitting it.
